課程概述

The role of RNA in regulating gene expression has become a topic of intense interest. This course will focus on current research in the RNA field. We will explore and discuss the knowledge and mechanism whereby RNA can regulate gene expression with examples in various model systems. The course will also highlight the application of this knowledge in therapeutics and research at the final section. 

課程目標
 This course will provide a comprehensive interpretation that is intended for students who are interested in RNA biology, the regulation of gene expression, genetics, genomics or molecular biology. 
課程要求
 Students are asked to actively participate in the discussion of research papers for each topic. Students are also asked to develop a consolidated version of research proposal during the class, with a stepwise writing of abstract, research rationales, specific aims and the final proposal. A final oral presentation for research proposal is also required for each student. Grading standard is based on the achievement of each assignment, and the oral presentation of research proposal.
